For many of us, the mountains and rivers are places of joy, meaning, and connection. They can also hold experiences of loss, trauma, and complicated grief that are often hard to talk about within our outdoor communities.
On April 2, I will be offering the next installment of my trauma-informed processing group called “Shadow Side of the Mountain.” This confidential space is designed for people who have been impacted by trauma or loss in a mountain, river, or outdoor environment.
This group will be beneficial for:
• Survivors of accidents or traumatic incidents
• Friends, partners, or family members who have lost a loved one
• Search and rescue volunteers and professionals
• Recreational or professional mountain athletes, outdoor workers, and guides
The intention of this group is to offer a grounded, supportive space to process experiences that are often carried quietly, connect with others who understand the unique context of outdoor trauma, and explore ways to move toward healing.
